MASARE was founded in September 2025 with the ambition of building an independent investment platform driven by conviction, discipline and long-term value creation. We invest in businesses across sectors and situations where complexity requires deep expertise. We do so by partnering with management teams and entrepreneurs selected for their operational capabilities and their ability to create lasting value. Our approach departs from traditional private equity. Each investment is treated on its own merits and structured as a co-investment, with full transparency and interests aligned from the outset.

Mathieu Saunder
Founding Managing Partner

Mathieu Saunder has 16 years of investment and investment banking experience across New York, London, Paris and Madrid. Prior to founding MASARE, he spent seven years at Alpine Grove Partners (formerly Soros Real Estate Partners), where he led the firm’s investment activity across France and Spain. Over the course of his career, he has invested and managed over €2 billion in equity (representing approximately €5 billion in total assets) to develop and restructure businesses across Europe, and has executed over €8 billion in real estate M&A transactions in Europe and over $16 billion in the United States across all industries.
